The Economy vs. The Creator
This is completely anecdotal.
My #1 most listened to song is Untitled 06 | 06.30.2014 by Kendrick. I was sixteen when I first heard it and it was the first time I felt actually understood in a song.
Over the years in my online-persona building journey, Iβve felt a stronger urge to stop identifying with this song, since loving Kendrick isnβt βnicheβ anymore.
Recently, Iβve realized that Iβve been selling out some fundamental parts of myself to be more unique - and if that meant giving up what I truly felt, like how this song - and album - made me feel, Iβd do that.
Eckhart Tolle is a self-help writer Kendrick refers to a ton in his work and he has a quote, βOnly by becoming vulnerable, can you discover your true vulnerability.β
And that brings me to the first marks of my frustration with the lack of understanding of what the βcreator economyβ does to how society is working.
