Not Real Founders
Synthetic Founders and justifying People in Companies.
A few weeks into attempting to raise a fund around early-stage holding companies, I realized that in the Lordโs Year of 2025โฆ it probably is harder to justify the use of humans as investments over most use cases where humans are involved โthat can be automated anyways.โ
Founder - as a job is one of those cases.
Iโve been bringing this up to my founder friendsโฆ and, of course, Iโve been hit with one of the strongest visceral reactions to something.
โThatโs an abomination to the startup industry.โ
Itโs not to say that this idea is a good idea, but it is something to test and to be aware of conceptually as Founders continue to hand over data rooms to VCs market mapping industries.
